Emirates Humanitarian City has announced the launch of a comprehensive emergency relief program targeting displaced communities in three of the regions most affected by humanitarian crises around the world: East Africa, the Levant, and South Asia.
The program was developed in close coordination with United Nations agencies, international non-governmental organizations, and local implementing partners. It will deliver an integrated package of assistance including food baskets, non-food items, shelter support, medical assistance, and temporary housing solutions. Emirates Humanitarian City’s expanded logistics infrastructure will serve as a central hub for consolidating and dispatching relief shipments across the three corridors.
Operational Scope & Target Groups
In East Africa, Emirates Humanitarian City will focus on drought-affected communities in the Horn of Africa, coordinating with the working-group mechanisms of the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) and the World Food Programme to ensure alignment with existing response efforts. Distribution will prioritize female-headed households, children under five, and the elderly, identified through community-based registration systems.
